Restocking and direct mill sourcing for stockists and traders

Restocking, mixed sourcing, buying at source to rebuild your stock. You are not buying a part: you are buying tonnage, at a price and an origin that have to stand up against your own resale.

4 mills · 3 countries 50,000 t/year at our Thai partner mill (capacity as stated by the mill, 2026) All ISO 9001

What you come to us for

A price and an origin, in that order. You know the market as well as we do, you canvass several sources in parallel, and what you want from an intermediary is access you don't have directly — or that you don't want to open for a single lot.

Since 2026, a question has been added that did not exist before: where the material comes from, and what that costs on import. Reduced quotas, a higher out-of-quota duty, CBAM in its definitive phase, Melt & Pour traceability now demandable. Poorly documented origin cannot be fixed at customs clearance.

What we supply

Direct access to our four partner mills, whose output you buy at mill price. We are the commercial and documentary interface; the capacity sits with the mills.

On the regulatory side: we supply documented origin, Melt & Pour traceability and the emissions data passed on by our mills, together with EN 10204 3.1 material certificates. That is what your customs agent will ask you for.

If you are the importer, however, you are the party liable under CBAM — authorised declarant status, embedded emissions, certificates to surrender. That obligation rests on the importer and cannot be delegated to a supplier. Our work starts upstream of yours; it does not replace it.

The grades listed are the most common in this industry, not a closed list. Every piping grade belongs to one of our nine families; if yours doesn't appear here, it is not outside our scope.

Standards and documents

EN 10204 3.1 material certificates. Melt & Pour traceability. Certificates of origin. Embedded emissions data passed on by the mills for your CBAM declarations — Regulation (EU) 2023/956. All partner mills are ISO 9001 certified; SPS, as a trading company, is not, and does not claim to be.

Frequently asked questions

What does a stockist gain by going through you rather than buying direct from the mill?
Access without having to open, qualify and manage an overseas mill account for a volume that doesn't yet justify it, and a French-speaking contact on certificates and import documentation. If your volume justifies going direct, go direct.
Do you handle our CBAM compliance?
No, and nobody can do it in your place: the declaration falls to the importer. We supply what feeds it — origin, Melt & Pour traceability, mill emissions data, material certificates. Be wary of any offer of "turnkey CBAM compliance".
What minimum tonnage for a mill order?
It depends on the mill, the grade and the size. We tell you at enquiry stage rather than publish a threshold that would be wrong half the time. Below it, European partner stock remains open.
Do you offer a review of our sourcing?
Yes, free of charge: CBAM exposure, quota position, weak points in your current origins. It is an analysis, not a compliance service.

Tell us what you need: grade, size, quantity, deadline. Same-day response on a simple enquiry, within 2 to 3 working days on a complex one.
