A stainless flange is a bolted connection component that joins two piping elements, equipment or a valve, with a sealing face bearing on a gasket. Its designation combines a type (slip-on, weld neck, lap joint…), a standard, a nominal pressure and a sealing face.
How to choose it?
Standard choice depends on the project reference framework: EN 1092-1 in Europe, ASME B16.5 for a North American project or a US process standard. Service pressure determines the PN or class; type (slip-on, weld neck, lap joint) depends on the piping connection method; face (RF by default) depends on the gasket used.
Available grades
Standard austenitic grades cover most requests. Duplex and nickel alloys are sourced on request for the most demanding corrosion applications.
Applicable standards
EN 1092-1 and ASME B16.5 are the two standards SPS carries. JIS is handled on request, case by case. ASME B16.47 (large diameter flanges) and EN 1759-1 are excluded from the standard offer.

Partner stock or mill?
Flanges follow the same partner stock / mill logic as the rest of stainless piping.
From partner stock: 48 hours for urgent needs, 5 working days as standard.
We go through the mill when volume and lead time make sense — typically container-load quantities, sometimes less, with a lead time of a few months including transport. That arbitration is ours to make: when buying at source works out cheaper for you, we say so.
Frequently asked questions
- Do you offer JIS flanges?
- On request only, case by case — JIS is not carried at the same level as EN 1092-1 and ASME B16.5 in the standard offer.
- Why aren't ASME B16.47 and EN 1759-1 offered?
- This is an SPS offer choice, not a technical availability limit — EN 1092-1 and ASME B16.5 cover most needs and are the two standards carried.
- Is the RTJ face available?
- Yes, on request — RF and FF are the default faces; RTJ and tongue-and-groove are ordered case by case.
- What's the difference between a slip-on and a weld neck flange?
- A slip-on flange is fillet-welded onto the tube, with no load transfer along the line; a weld neck flange has a hub that is butt-welded and better carries bending stress — preferred at high pressure.
