A stainless round or bar is a solid profile — round, square, flat or hexagonal — used for machining, special fasteners or mechanical parts, unlike a tube which is hollow. The delivery condition (as-rolled, drawn, ground) determines the dimensional tolerance and surface finish available without further machining.
How to choose it?
Shape choice follows the end use: round for most turned parts, square or flat for welded fabrication, hexagon for fasteners. Delivery condition is chosen based on the next operation — a ground round avoids a machining pass when the final tolerance is tight.

Partner stock or mill?
Rounds and bars follow the same partner stock / mill logic as the rest of the catalogue, with rare grades more often pointing toward a planned mill purchase.
From partner stock: 48 hours for urgent needs, 5 working days as standard.
We go through the mill when volume and lead time make sense — typically container-load quantities, sometimes less, with a lead time of a few months including transport. That arbitration is ours to make: when buying at source works out cheaper for you, we say so.

- Do you offer bars beyond Ø 500 mm?
- On request — Ø 500 mm is this page's standard limit, not a published cap on what SPS can source beyond it.
- What's the difference between as-rolled and drawn?
- As-rolled keeps a wide dimensional tolerance and an uncalibrated surface finish; cold drawing tightens tolerance and improves surface finish, at a higher cost.
- Where can I find lengths and tolerances?
- Per the partner stock standard — typically 3 or 6 metres — or cut to length on request. Send the required length and tolerance in the quote request.

- Yes, the list is a selection of examples, not a closed catalogue — describe the grade you need in a quote request.
